Intensive Spanish Program
About
The Universidad de San Andrés Intensive Spanish Program is a three-week course designed for students aiming to make substantial advancements in their Spanish language skills while immersing themselves in Argentine culture.
This program has been meticulously crafted by a team of native instructors and experienced professionals in the field of teaching Spanish as a foreign language. It is conducted at our dedicated facility in downtown Buenos Aires. In addition to the structured curriculum, participants will engage in regular cultural excursions and activities, providing them with an authentic experience of the language as spoken by the locals of Buenos Aires.
The program is intended for students who have completed a minimum of three semesters of college-level Spanish or its equivalent.
Academics
Intensive Spanish Program
The Intensive Spanish Program at Universidad de San Andrés offers students a unique opportunity for academic growth while immersing themselves in Argentine culture and sharpening their Spanish proficiency. Upon successful completion, an official university transcript will be sent directly to the student's home institution.
Format & Commitment: Due to the accelerated structure of this month-long program, participants typically earn credits equivalent to two semester-long courses.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM
Intermediate Spanish Language Course (60 Hours)
This course leverages immersive learning to rapidly elevate student language proficiency. It offers a structured review and expansion of grammar and vocabulary, while strengthening listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills for increasingly complex scenarios.
Participants gain natural fluency in an authentic environment, helping them adapt to native language norms and preparing them to take regular academic courses taught in Spanish alongside local students.

Housing
Universidad de San Andrés does not arrange housing placement directly, but students have access to a variety of safe, desirable, and conveniently located housing options throughout Buenos Aires. Many students choose to live in the scenic northern neighborhoods along the Río de la Plata for easy access to campus via affordable public transit.
Homestay
For students interested in living with a local family, UdeSA staff provides a reference list of host families who have hosted international students in the past.
- Details: Breakfast and daily dinner are typically included (except weekend dinners). All final arrangements, ground rules, and payments are handled directly between the student and the host family.
Apartment
If you prefer independent living, UdeSA provides resources and recommendations to help you find and rent a furnished apartment, usually shared with a roommate.
On-Campus Residence Hall
A limited number of dormitory rooms are available on campus for undergraduate, local, and international students.
- Overview: Accommodates around 10% of the undergraduate student body in shared double or quadruple rooms.
- Note: On-campus spots are very limited and managed directly through university residence applications.
A limited number of spaces are available in the on-campus dormitory.
Visa Requirements
International students studying in Argentina for less than 90 days may enter Argentina on a tourist visa and do not need to acquire a resident visa. Please check the following link to determine whether you need a tourist visa to enter Argentina:
Those students who are required to obtain a visa according to the list above and/or will participate in an academic program for longer than 90 days must acquire a Student/Resident VISA for their exchange period. Students should apply through the nearest Argentine consulate as soon as they have received their letter of acceptance as the visa process may take up to three months. Those accepted to UdeSA with less than a three month margin should contact the Office of International Programs for further instructions.
